MY next goal is to shoot for Mr and Mrs Natural competition May 2014...... Let the game begin! Time to kick some ASS in the gym....and kitchen!
Post shoulder repair.....Surgery caused atrophy...9 months later with many hours of training a well balanced work out and food plan ...... Patience is important .....when you feel you have had enough take a deep breath and step up to the plate... dig in and give it another round... Age isn't an excuse to to pack in the towel......At 49 I say keep your will to strive high in check..... make it happen...We never stop learning and we can always make improvements!

pic on left 8 days befor show cutting and on right 3 weeks from last show...eating working out although I am taking it a little easy with my glutes because I dealing with a over trained hamstring which I am trying to heal... so the next 4-6 weeks shall be not at my usual waaaaaaa! Plans are next show 29 weeks and another 30 weeks.... the weight change here is ~ 4 lbs in these comparison...my typical wt variation off and on is 5-8 lbs tops..It's shocking how after u cut you thing where did my muscle go..lol ie shoulders! back to the drawing board! 2 weeks out and reminders for my peeps! #1 Remember where you came from you have worked hard and made amazing gains! This is your time to shine! #2 Keep eating! Yes food is your friend and the emaciated look isn't appealing! #3 Smile and the world smiles back! Research has shown then even with a forced smile it effects us neurologically so please keep smiling it effects us and and others on many levels! #4 You are in competition with yourself... try hard to remember that this is your journey... you worked hard to achive it ....and you MUST carry yourself with the utmost of pride as YOU SHOULD! I am very proud of all my peeps accomplishments on all levels! #5 Did you know that less then 1% of the female population step on stage! This is truly a unique venture and yours to keep in your heart forever ..Always think happy thoughts..If you are getting ready to step on stage and a bit nervous take a deep breath and put a happy thought in your mind..something that makes your soul smile! #6 Respect your health.... Feed your body ...challenge your body...and take time out to observe the little things in life they all matter! Thank you for working with me! Now lets kick some ASS! Sandy The power of food and a great work out plan..when I decided to compete.... I as a trainer decided yes every trainer needs a trainer! I have Coach Ruben Sandoval from Fit To Be In Your Kitchen coaching me as well as meal planning for my competition.. I also engage with trainer Karen Johnson to push me in areas we sometimes omit as trainers ...The road to competition is tough... we need to work hard dedicate ourselves to eat clean and be prepared always! On days when you feel tired you push thru! Of course rest is important for growth so one needs to have a fine line with all entailed! But what a fun ride it is ! Pushing onself just a bit further is rather addicting... if I don't say so myself... Scary thing about competing is you never know who is going to show up ...So you be YOUR best and ENJOY!! The prepping is somewhat endless because you can never get enough posing and the need for maintenance is needed! Growth takes patience and delegence along with nutrients! I love creating workout plans for my competitors and for myself always on the hunt to tweak! So here is some change from end of April to end of Sept.. shoulder surgery was last Oct 2012 so the upper body needed some serious attention due to atrophy! The journey continues and it's showtime in 2.5 weeks! We work hard... we challenge our bodies ...we feed our soul ....why ? Because as human nature has it we strive to always be in a state of challenge to grow... Sometimes we are not aware why we put ourselves through these things but when we make change and it's good ....ahhh, the sweet feeling of accomplishment does feed the soul ...doesn't it? It drives us to dream of future feelings of accomplishment... I think this is partly why the constant need to move forward is deep within our being.. We need to always learn.... So I am please with my growth emotionally and physically this go around...It is never ending and one cannot say k I ve reached the spot I want to be...Absolutely not change is constant ... Living healthy ...making wise choices and yes we do need challenges.. This is why I love to compete ...... Waiting till I was in my fourties is well a bit odd I quess but who cares...lol.... it's never to late to challenge yourself. I also believe age is in your mind...don't give up on progress because you have reached a number of years..... Why not embrace your wiseness and keep your physical in the best shape YOU can be in! Make the change today and commit to yourself! What are your goals for the next 6 months? Do you have any? Respect your body and your soul ..............Cheers |
