When I signed up at Anytime Fitness I requested to work with a trainer....After explaining what I was looking for,Sandy was recommended for me....
I was insured she would be a good fit for what I was looking to achieve.
In am so happy with the training and meal coaching advise she provides...but I am most grateful for her vast knowledge and genuine caring for all her clients.
Sandys classes are never the same and always challenging and are easy to modify to any fitness level. I have had various surgeries and injuries and Sandy truly understands my limitations but still pushes me to the best I can be and I am able to do more then I ever thought possible. I still have a way to go before I hit my goal but I know Sandy will help me get there...
The above is only the begining of this lovely ladies transformations...she has a goal in5 months...more to come....Slow and steady is the best fitness goals....here we come!

I first met Sandy for guidance in my first bikini competition, even though I wasn't fully committed and truly was nervous over the idea...She helped me better prepare and gave me the courage to step on stage with meal coaching advice, guidance in my work out routines, posing agility and most of all support!
For the three month journey I was with her she did nothing but help me better myself mentally and physically. She was never harsh or advised harmful techniques and by the end of the experience i was able to walk on stage and compete in two classes with confidence and most of all a feeling of accomplishment...
The experience is something I will never forget and I will continue to improve myself to compete again. I would recomend her to anyone and everyone.
I have never met someone so dedicated and passionate about her love for fitness and though she has a busy lifestyle she always finds a way to be there to help her clients succeed and reach thier goals. I am glad to say I ve had her as a coach.

My thoughts about Sandy Nelson.
First, I must admit that I am not an exercise guru, in fact I dislike going to the gym. I never played sports, was never "fit", just a plain "Jane". At age 45 I was an overweight mother who got short of breath carrying laundry up the stairs. I shopped for clothing in the "plus" section at the store. I was not happy with myself nor my appearance.
I decided for my 46th birthday I didn't want to be that person anymore, I was finally going to take "me time" and get healthy. I started going to the gym, doing my own thing. I did have a Personal Trainer who gave me 6 lessons. I was trudging along, not really feeling comfortable with what I was doing. I didn't feel my first Personal Trainer really "got" me. Someone at my gym mentioned Sandy Nelson. I emailed her and she immediately got back with me.
We planned our first meeting a few weeks later. My intent was to see Sandy for a new exercise regime, however Sandy realized I was ready for more. She gave me a free consult for not only exercise, but also meal coaching. This was all foreign to me, but Sandy helped to guide me through.
What I loved most is that she tells you she is always available to help. Well, I have heard that many times over, found that "always" is a relative term. Well, Sandy is always available. I even told her once via text that i felt bad bothering her. She said "nonsense". I have found that Sandy is always ready to help, to cheer me on when I need it. She celebrates my successes and keeps my afloat when I am not as successful as I feel I should be. She has been my strongest cheerleader, she made me believe I could achieve a goal when I thought I couldn't. She listened and understood where I was coming from, she created a plan that fit me. This made it so much easier to follow as I understood that Sandy always had my back. So, if you are an overweight middle aged person, someone who is new to fitness, or someone who is fit and requires "editing" of your current plan, Sandy Nelson is the Coach for you. I feel that working with Sandy is more of a partnership, rather than a Coach/Trainer to individual. She wants to understand you, she wants you to succeed, and she will do what it takes to help you along your journey towards fitness. I recommend Sandy Nelson without reservation, YOU should TOO!!

Sandy has trained me for a little over 4 years now. Other then being highly educated in many different areas of health and fitness Sandy always stands out because she has an amazing way of connecting with people.
She is determined to help people reach their goals and goes above and beyond any standards.
I started with no goals in mind other then to be healthy and then Sandy challenged me to push myself a little further and to compete. Without her sense of confidence in me I would've never put myself up to that challenge.
I started training with her in person and then moved far enough away to where she coached me through the internet and phone. It's amazing how well it works!
She has been such an inspiration to me that I've become a personal trainer. I hope one day I can be as influential as she has been to me and to others. Her coaching has made an amazing impact on my health and lifestyle!

Sandy really did transform my physique and brought it to a whole new level. I had gained some weight thorough different approaches to contest prep and then I met sandy. She really personalizes for you.
With her I now have a better understanding of what's right for my body, the types of food to eat for me and that it all goes together in a package and one must be patient and enjoy the process.
She not only improved my physical side of training but my mental one which is a way bigger one to accomplish. She is such a great trainer and great to work with. Thank you to all you have done for me.

I consider myself the typical busy woman in her late 40s juggling career, family and squeezing in a few trips to the gym each week. Slowly the pounds crept on. Like most mom's I was cooking for speed and convenience, always mindful of healthy options, but was losing my battle of the bulge.
I loved the classes I'd taken with Sandy because she never judged my mediocre fitness level and has a positive style that encourages me to try harder. For the first time in my life, she inspired me to enter a 12 week challenge. I was so intimidated but decided to go for it! This has been life changing for me!
Sandy is an amazing teacher...I've learned to make better choices that don't leave me feeling deprived. I'm taking steps to create a lifestyle that is sustainable and the results are incredible! Halfway through the challenge I've lost an inch off my waist, more than 5% body fat and I feel fantastic. Sandy is THE reason I finally quit avoiding being accountable and I'm so grateful for a coach who inspires me to keep improving myself!

Sandy brought her passion and expertise to create a very individualized experience for me. She took the approach of being a listener, mentor and trainer as we set up my goals. Under her guidance, she helped me to understand the relationship between what I put into my body and my physical well-being.
Her classes are always interesting as well as motivating, pushing me to physical achievements that I really hadn’t thought were possible.
Sandy definitely “walks the walk” with her own commitment to wellness of body and mind. I know that with her advice and training she brings her own personal experiences as well as her large knowledge base in the area of fitness and nutrition.
The bottom line for me is ACHIEVEMENT OF GOALS!
Thanks, Sandy!

Sandy is knowledgeable, encouraging, kind and honest. Sandy caters program structure to the needs and abilities of her clients and does everything in her ability to work with her clients, challenge them and keep them accountable.
The meal coaching is diverse and satisfying, the training is tough and gets results. Having worked in the past with prep coaches I loved Sandy’s coaching strategy.
Sandy utilizes a natural holistic approach, which I greatly appreciate and she works on the spiritual/whole body aspect of coaching, not just the physical side, which is of utmost importance for long-term results.
I’d recommend Sandy to anyone.

I am a typical working mom with two kids at home. I work full time and barely have time to do anything. Sandy encouraged me to do a 12 week challenge. I didn't realize how much more you get accomplished with accountability! She knows how to keep you motivated and on track.
She has taught me how to lose weight and incorporate it into my everyday lifestyle.
I have lost weight, inches and fit into pants I haven't fit into in over a year!
She is a great inspiration!

Pam's Health Journey
What happens when others believe in you more than you believe in yourself:
Not very active as a child, I started jogging when in college and continued with this while having children, then fast forward to peri-menopause which can be a time where little seems to slow the midsection weight gain. I joined Anytime Fitness where I took a variety of aerobic and boot camp classes and was introduced to weight training.
Sandy Nelson, one of the class instructors and personal trainer, posed the question “what are your goals” and I sadly realized I did not have a goal and that I was not making “gains”.
I realized I needed Sandy as my personal trainer, she believed in me, directed and motivated me. Incredibly I started to believe in myself and started to make gains in my health and fitness.
One day Sandy mentioned that the NPC Competition would be in Duluth in May of 2014 and I should consider participating in the figure category. I pondered this idea for quite some time.
Not only did I compete in the NPC, I competed in a second show in October, 2014 to help remain in my new state of health. I now continue to strive to improve and desire to stay on track with plans to participate in a competition here in Duluth in September of 2015. There were many challenges along the way, set-backs and recoveries, rewards and I continue to show small gradual changes and a sense of improved health.
My journey during this past year began when someone believed in me more than I believed in myself. Thank you Sandy Nelson! You are the best! I chose to share my before (October 2013) and after photos (October 2014) to show others that they too can make a change toward improve health regardless of life stage.

I have learned so much since I started taking Sandy's classes. She has given me some great advice be it recipes, what foods I should and shouldn't incorporate in my daily diet, exercises, etc.
Sandy has challenged me to improve and I can now do so many things I could not do when in my 20's and I'm 57!
I feel so good and I'm proud of how far I've come in the past year.
It wouldn't have happened without Sandy's expertise in health and training.
I'm very grateful!

I just wanted you to know this....since you have been my meal/exercise coach, not only have you somehow got this body to shed some fat but you also have helped to fix a chronic issue I has having for the last 2+ years.
By 7pm I was dead tired and even though I was so tired, I would wake up 6-7 times a night. I had to resort to a sleeping pill every night.
I can say that today marks a whole week (in 2 years) since I have taken a pill and I have slept like a baby!! AND I no longer am dead to the world by 7pm!! YOU ROCK and for that it is all worth it!
